Susan Allan
Susan's path started as a child at an Ottawa horse farm that was organized for the disabled. Watching how horses live in the moment and do not judge made a life-long impact. Over the years, Susan rode, showed, evented, became a technical delegate, a stadium jumper judge and ground jury member. She served on numerous horse affiliated committees and is a current member of the Ottawa Valley Hunt. A third generation realtor, she has enjoyed helping people with some of their biggest, most personal decisions since 1986. And her greatest accomplishment is being the mother of three wonderful children and a multitude of animals.
After purchasing Willaway Farm in 2004, Susan expanded on her goal of making a difference to someone every day. At Willaway, there is a culture of love, respect and sharing that the boarders, lesson and workshop clients and staff all embrace. It fosters a family feeling with the horse as the common bond and Susan as the facilitator. Our motto is "Where there is a Will, there is a Way!"
Susan is now bringing the wisdom of horses to people of all abilities and needs. Watching the changes the opportunity to be with horses makes for the families is one of Susan's greatest pleasures. Her farm and horses provide a safe sanctuary for people learning about themselves and their relationships with others, fostering better communications and giving all types of partnerships a new avenue to flourish.
Susan completed her Yoga Teacher Training and is continuing to add more value to her clients' experiences at Willaway - and the horses love it! Having achieved her FEEL (Facilitated Equine Experiential Learning) Certification and becoming a member of the Equine Facilitated Wellness Canada (EFW-Can), Susan continues her studies and learning growth by travelling and studying with some of the masters of this work; but nowhere is the learning more fulfilling than at Willaway Farm where every day the animals make a difference!
